The social network’s revenue continues to boom. Analysts had projected fourth-quarter revenue of $8.51 billion, a 46 percent year-over-year increase. Facebook beat that score, delivering revenue growth of 51 percent, and its shares rose modestly in after-hours trading.
As a Facebook advertiser, you can be secure in the knowledge that the social media platform is not going anywhere and at the current growth rate it will hit 2 billion monthly active users by the middle of this year.
More importantly, it’s worth noting that the figures for total active users and mobile users are converging with the two data points becoming truly synonymous. Mobile advertising made up the majority share of Facebook’s ad revenue, coming in at 84 percent in the last quarter of 2016.
Facebook’s monthly active users have grown by 17% compared to the first quarter of 2016. Instagram has also just announced that it hit the milestone of 700 million monthly active users.
This is good news for anyone looking to reach a large audience of potential customers via paid social media advertising.
